Abstract
Teachers and students are interdependent within the learning process. Mindfully using communication can help teachers and students understand their interdependency and each other's perspectives. In order to take advantage of their interdependencies, teachers and students can enact interbeing. Interbeing is the phenomenon that occurs when persons mindfully interact, being simultaneously fully other-oriented and self-oriented. This paper uses the interactionist perspective to examine the communicative nature of interbeing, providing examples of how it can be mindfully enacted.
