Abstract

Telemedicine, defined as the use of advanced telecommunications technologies to bridge distance and support health care delivery and education, is an essential part of health informatics. The current U.S. market for telemedicine is growing rapidly and its growth rate is predicted to increase even more in the following years. A telemedicine course becomes an essential part of a medical informatics training program.
