I don't know how the knee injury will affect Brett Favre, but before he got hurt, I thought he was playing better than he had in the last three years. Over the last few seasons, there were probably three or four throws a game that he really gambled on, and it cost him at times, I haven't seen him do that this year. He's hitting open receivers and going to all his weapons.... The Chiefs' defensive scheme would probably work a lot better if they had better personnel. It's probably a bad marriage between the two. They don't have a lot of speed at linebacker, they lost their best safety (Jerome Woods), and they put their corners in vulnerable positions because they blitz so much and take a lot of chances. They give up a lot of big plays because of that.... Carolina has a big-time defensive line for the future. I've always thought Mike Rucker plays with a lot of intensity. Kris Jenkins is very mobile, very powerful. He can get off blocks and make plays. Adding Julius Peppers makes those other two guys a lot better. I think that's the reason they're get ring all those sacks.... One reason for the high number of kick and punt returns for touchdowns is that you have to play with a lot of young players on special teams now.
