In an article, Silence earns Motson a rebuke, page 13, Sport, October 19, we stated that the football commentator John Motson received a dressing down from his bosses who were livid that he failed to mention the racist abuse during the Slovakia - England game. Both the BBC and John Motson have told us that he could not hear the abuse, which he condemns, as he was wearing his headphones. They inform us that he was neither rebuked nor summoned to any meeting for a dressing down, nor were his bosses livid.
