RHODRI Morgan has given union leaders a dressing down for using ``scare tactics'' over the future of 3,000 Welsh defence jobs.

The First Minister insisted ``unnecessary alarm'' had been created by claims a Ministry of Defence review into the maintenance of British war planes could lead to massive job losses at RAF St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan and another base in north Wales .

The Transport & General Workers' Union (T&G) claimed the MoD review had also placed a question mark over Project Red Dragon, a planned new investment at St Athan which involves the creation of an aviation …
