TOKYO, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - Fuji Photo Film Co. (TSE:4901) plans to dissolve its employee pension fund by next March and switch to a defined-contribution pension plan in April 2003.

Amid a worsening environment for managing pension plans, the company aims to minimize the adverse impact on profitability by overhauling its pension plan.

In most cases, the companies that have introduced defined-contribution plans -- such as Hitachi Ltd. (TSE:6501) -- are offering these in conjunction with traditional defined-benefit plans.
