Civil Rights Group Liberty is gearing up for a major lobbying drive against Government plans to allow courts to disclose defendants' past records to juries in criminal cases.

The plans are part of the Criminal Justice and Sentencing Reform Bill, which will be introduced in the Queen's Speech on 13 November and published three weeks later.
