(From PR Week)
Byline: JOE LEPPER
Mitsubishi Motors is to carry out a review of PR following the announcement that its media chief of 18 years is to leave.
General manager of press and public affairs David Miles, who takes early retirement at the end of December, says that although the review coincides with his departure it is part of a general cost-cutting drive across the company.
He said: 'If like us you say you want to reduce the price of cars you have to look at all the costs and see where savings can be made.'
Cost-cutting measures already undertaken have seen the PR team reduced to just Miles and a PR assistant from a five-strong team three years ago.
Cuts have also been made in the number of press packs sent out to journalists alongside an increased use in e-mailed releases.
