(From Korea Times)
When Kim Mi-hyun decided to join the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, the general opinion of South Koreans was that she was too small to stay with the sport's big stars.
At 155cm, she won't intimidate too many competitors on the first tee. But the 25-year old has become a big name in Korea.
Not only in her homeland, recognition of Kim's name and game are growing in the United States, as well.
Kim has 10 top-10 finishes this season, including wins at the Giant Eagle Classic and Wendy's Championship for Children.
``I practiced a lot during my winter training session. And also I didn't win any titles 2001 so that also pushed me harder to achieve my goals,'' Kim said in an interview with The Korea Times.
After the Evian Masters in France in June where Kim tied for second behind Annika Sorenstam, she said she got a lot of confidence.
