WALT DISNEY faces a class-action lawsuit by shareholders who are arguing over the status of the rights to cartoon favourite Winnie the Pooh, writes Mark Watts.

The claim, lodged in Los Angeles last week, alleges the company withheld information about a legal challenge over the rights.

And it says the company "failed to disclose hundreds of millions of dollars in potential royalty payments in a lawsuit over Winnie the Pooh as well as the much-more serious threat of terminating the company's merchandising agreement for Pooh products which represent several billion dollars a year in revenue".
