As one of the seven founding members of the Global Ecolabelling Network - an international organization that aims to promote environmentally-friendly products - Taiwan has not only been able to demonstrate its willingness for conservation to the world, but also has been legitimized as the Republic of China within the organization, whereas China has only been granted observer status.

Taiwan's status within the organization warrants special attention: No pressure has been exerted by China to change Republic of China's name within the organization, said Jia-Chyi ([angle quotation mark, right]o[R]a), section chief of the Bureau of Performance Evaluation and Dispute Settlement.
