A federal Judge in Kentucky has refused to certify a class of plaintiffs in litigation against Purdue Pharma LP, the Stamford, CT-based distributor of OxyContin (oxycodone HCl controlled-release) Tablets. In the Judges' opinion, a court will not allow a class action lawsuit under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure unless the proposed class can be defined and its members identified clearly.
