Wockhardt Ltd has reported a 21.6 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 36 crore for the third quarter (Q3) ended September 2002 as compared to Rs 17.5 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. The company's income from operations rose by 19.1 per cent to Rs 205.3 crore from Rs 172.4 crore, a Wockhardt release said. During the quarter under review, operating margin improved to 22 per cent from 21.4 per cent in the corresponding quarter of last year while expenditure incurred on purchase of finished goods increased by 35.6 per cent to Rs 59.8 crore from Rs 44.1 crore.
