Canberra's Cool Climate Wine Club is doing its bit to put the district on the map with a mixed dozen, including a shiraz from Gallagher Wines, the 2001 vintage of which took out the champion prize at the recent Canberra Regional Wine Show.

The mixed dozen, which sells for $155, also includes a Jeir Creek 2001 Riesling, Meeting Place 2000 Chardonnay, Helm 2000 Cabernet Merlot and other leading Canberra labels. The club is also selling a dozen from Western Australia's Great Southern Region and an Italian mixed dozen for $250.

It will hold tastings of both at the Kurrajong Hotel on November 9. Inquiries: 1300 302 292.
