Riga, 16 September: The trucker protests amid long queues of trucks on Monday [16 September] on the Latvian-Russian border ended after Russia had promised to appoint more customs officers on the border as of Monday, raising the vehicle daily output capacity from 120 to 180.

Over 500 trucks were waiting on Monday on the Latvian side at the Terehova border checkpoint to cross over to Russia. The truckers warned they would block the Riga-Moscow highway but did not block the road, halting instead crossing the border completely, prolonging the trucking queue even further with the line of trucks stretching for almost nine …
