THE teaching of Science and Mathematics in English will not eventually see Bahasa Malaysia being side-lined, Education Ministry Parliamentary Secretary Datuk Mahadzir Mohd Khir reiterated yesterday.

He said Barisan Nasional and Umno fought to safeguard Bahasa Malaysia more than any party in the country.

"When we, in the Dewan Rakyat, were educated in English, why should we deprive our children of studying in English?"

He also reminded the people not to be confused over the move to teach Science and Mathematics in English.
