Cape Town, South Africa (PANA) - The Total oil company has indicated it would maintain its relationship with the Dakar marathon rally, despite loses naming rights for the event for the first time in ten years.
The 25th annual event would be known as the Telefonica Dakar, with Total remaining the official fuel supplier. It will begin in France on the evening of 1 January 2003 and finish in the Egyptian city of Sharm el Sheik on 19 January.
In spite of the name Dakar (Senegalese capital) being retained in the name of the event, the rally will not pass through Senegal. It will be raced through ...
