EVERYBODY knows Tamzin Outhwaite as sexy soap babe Melanie Owen so be prepared for a shock when she appears as single mum Shelley Richards in a harrowing new drama.
In Out Of Control any hint of Outhwaite's former EastEnders glamour has been removed. Her trademark flowing blonde tresses have been scrapped back into a greasy pony tail, she wears a tracksuit, cheap jewellery and smokes constantly.
The startling transformation seems to be already reaping dividends for the 31-year-old actress as the BBC One show walked off with the prestigious Michael Powell Award For Best British Feature at last month's Edinburgh TV Festival.
