This class would have been much stronger had Jeremy Shockey and Jerramy Stevens stayed for their senior seasons. As it is, this is a pedestrian group that could use a boost from some of the top junior prospects.
1. Aaron Walker, 6-6, 261, Florida. Possession-type receiver with consistent hands. With his size and athleticism, he has the ability to be an NFL starter. Has improved as a blocker, and has room to improve further.
2. Spencer Nead, 6-4, 260, Brigham Young. A complete tight end who can catch and has the size and power to develop into a fine blocker. Runs nice patterns. Lacks great speed, and is older (almost 25) than you'd like.
3. Trent Smith, 6-5, 230, Oklahoma. Receiving specialist who would be a nice fit in a West Coast offense. Is often used in the slot. A tall target who can catch. Is of little use at the point of attack.
4. Mike Seidman, 6-5, 245, UCLA. Nice combination of receiving and blocking skills. Possession-type receiver. Knows how to get open. Has solid hands. Has been very productive.
5. Bennie Joppru, 6-5, 243, Michigan. Athletic tight end with speed to stretch the field. ...
