Todd Heap, like Tony Gonzalez, is a tight end who went to a Pac-10 college and loved playing basketball when he was growing up. Given those common denominators, it's no surprise Heap, four years younger, has eyeballed Gonzalez, who came into the NFL in 1997.
"I definitely followed him, especially while I was in college," says Heap, 22, who was drafted in the first round by the Ravens in 2001, after his junior year at Arizona State. "He's always going up, making catches. When the ball is up in the air, he kind of goes after it and attacks it. That's one of the things I try to do."
