This has to be some sick joke. There is Florida State kicker Xavier Beitia, kneeling and sobing on the Orange Bowl turf after yet another Seminoles dream sailed outside the uprights. A missed FSU field goal in a loss to Miami--how many times do we have to see this?

"I simply can't believe we lost the game like that again," says FSU coach Bobby Bowden.

But that is the only similarity between this team and the 1991, '92 and 2000 editions that also lost when last-second kicks didn't find the mark. Those were championship-caliber teams.
