A jobless man burst into tears yesterday when he told a jury how his former lover cut off his penis when he tried to end their relationship.

Chan Chi-keung, 35, said he thought he was going to die after Poon Shuk-yee's alleged act on November 9.

"I was bleeding profusely. I was terrified. I thought I was going to die," Mr Chan told prosecutor David Chan. Poon, 27, who works for a paging company in Guangzhou, pleaded not guilty to one charge of wounding with intent. Mr Chan has since had his penis reattached.
