US reaffirms normal trade relations with Vietnam.

VIETNAM last week welcomed a US House of Representatives decision to uphold normal trade relations with Vietnam for another year.

With a 338-91 vote, the House rejected a proposition to repeal normal trade relations with Vietnam, allowing the country to continue selling its goods in the US at the same tariffs issued to most countries.

"We welcome this decision and consider this the right move," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh told Vietnam Investment Review.
