ITEM: "Bush May Drop N. Korea from 'Axis of Evil'--Japan PM," read a Reuters headline on September 20th. The president "was quoted as telling Japan's Prime Minister [Junichiro Koizumi] that he may drop the reclusive communist state from his 'axis of evil' trio."

ITEM: "U.S. Welcomes Chinese Missile Export Rules," bannered the Tallahassee Democrat for August 26th. Reuters reported that the U.S. was pleased at Beijing's "publication of new regulations tightening controls over missile-related exports.... 'This is potentially an important step. It may help advance China's efforts to prevent the proliferation of dangerous missile technologies,' [said a] State Department spokesman...."

CORRECTION: While the eyes of the world are turned toward a potential U.S. attack on Iraq, supposedly because of its weapons of mass destruction, the Bush administration is quietly increasing support to North Korea and China in exchange for token ...
