Environmental policies are driving ranchers, loggers, and recreationists off the vast land tracts in the western states managed by the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. And violent marijuana growers serving foreign drug cartels are replacing them. A September 25th investigative report in the Red Bluff Daily News provides a frightening look at a dangerous trend in America's national forests. Entitled "Foreign Drug Cartels In North State Increasing," the report by Barry R. Clausen includes interviews with law enforcement officials, ranchers, and rural residents in northern California.
