AN EMOTIONAL appeal has been made to the mother of a baby boy whose body was discovered in a canal a week ago.
Police believe the boy, who weighed five-and-a-half pounds, could have been dead for up to five weeks.
Post-mortem tests proved inconclusive - but results of further tests are expected on Tuesday.
Detective Inspector Rhiannon Hodges yesterday made a direct appeal to the boy's mother, whom she said must be in ``great distress''.
