Headline: HK shares lower following Wall Street fall

Share prices closed lower on July 10 after the overnight decline on Wall Street as President George Bush's speech on corporate governance failed to reassure investor confidence.

Turnover remained thin as investors continued to set aside funds for the initial public offer of CK Life Sciences and Bank of China (Hong Kong).

The Hang Seng index closed down 55.61 points or 0.51 percent at 10,787.54, off a high of 10,829.54 and a low of 10,747.92, on turnover of HK$4.960 billion.

The Hang Seng July contract was at 10,771 points.
