Hundreds of American films, distributed on DVD on American markets and on the Internet have been censured for commercial reasons by publishing companies that do not hesitate to cut and rework the films without the permission of either their authors (directors and scriptwriters) or of the American studios that own them. In the film Titanic, for example, the actors' bodies are covered in all the nude scenes, through the use of digital manipulation, with clothing or sheets not found in the original version. In Zorro, the swords used in the duel scenes are replaced by Starwars laser swords. And in Saving Private Ryan, all the landing scenes were deleted using the software that equips …
