PETRONAS International Corporation Ltd's offer to buy up South Africa's Energy Africa Ltd at 2 billion rand or 43.75 rand a share cash is final.

The wholly-owned subsidiary of national oil corporation Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) already owns 65 per cent of the issued share capital of Energy Africa directly or indirectly through Engen Ltd.

The offer, made last Thursday, works out to a 25 per cent premium to Energy Africa's closing share price of 35 rand on September 4.
