Mr Debus was joined by Rural Fire Service (RFS) Commissioner Phil Koperberg to oversee the launch of the two tankers. Mr Koperberg urged those in bushfire prone areas to heed the RFS's advice on taking measures to minimise risk. "The Rural Fire Service is better equipped than ever before to do its job and the better prepared the community is, the easier it is for us to do our job to protect your family and home," he said. "Up to 85 per cent of properties are lost in bushfires as a result of ember attack. Basic precautions, could, therefore have saved many of those homes."
