ARGOS is to create 700 jobs in Greater Manchester in the run-up to Christmas, the chain announced today.
Two new stores are opening while a third is being relocated and expanded.
The addition of shops in Stockport's Peel Centre and at Regent Road, Salford, will take the number of Argos branches in the region to 20.
A store in Manchester's Arndale Centre is moving from the ground floor to the upper level.
Two hundred permanent staff are being recruited for the three branches, while 500 temporary posts are being created for the festive shopping frenzy.
