City police to file case against Thackeray.

MUMBAI: The Mumbai police has decided to register a case against Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for promoting communal disharmony.

Mr Thackeray's speech at the Sena's Dasera rally on Tuesday has attracted the charge, it is learnt.Action against Mr Thackeray will be taken under Section 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code, according to sources.

The section deals with offences relating to the promotion of enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race and language, among others, and with acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony. Mr Thackeray reportedly made remarks against a particular community.
