HEALTH chiefs have been forced to pay GBP700 for private treatment after a woman claimed she felt unsafe in an NHS hospital.

Retired teacher Jill Baker had previously been infected with the MRSA superbug when treated for stomach cancer in a health service hospital.

When she discovered a second skin cancer on her leg she refused to go back to St Mary's Hospital in Milton, Hampshire, saying she feared contracting the potentially fatal bug for a second time.

Instead, Mrs Baker, 6 9 , of Waterlooville, was treated privately by a consultant dermatologist.

She claimed the GBP632.50 cost…
