More than 150 teachers from the Yorkshire and Humberside region are being praised for their commitment and hard work after earning the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), a leadership qualification that prepares them for the role of headteacher.
A total of 155 teachers from Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Doncaster, East Riding, Hull, Kirklees, Leeds, North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire, Rotherham, Sheffield, Wakefield and York are celebrating being awarded the qualification.
A graduation ceremony is being held to mark their achievement on Monday, October 14, at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Wetherby. NPQH is awarded by the National College for School Leadership (NCSL).
105 teachers from the region were awarded the qualification in March, this year.
Heather Du Quesnay, director and chief executive of NCSL, said: "Good leadership in schools is key to raising standards and ensuring pupils are getting the high quality education they deserve.
"We are delighted that more and more teachers are gaining this qualification and I want to congratulate all graduates for the time and effort they have put into preparing for the crucial role of headteacher."
