BUSAN, South Korea-Equestrian clinched a silver medal, boxing secured a battle for the gold and wushu produced two bronze medals yesterday in the 14th Asian Games here.
But the medals almost meant nothing when the Philippines dropped a won-game against South Korea in basketball, the country's national pastime.
What made the setback doubly nauseating was it came by the slimmest of margins, 69-68, after Lee Sang Min banged in the winning triple as the game-clock expired.
With the cagers missing a dream-come-true silver medal, they will now hope to defeat Kazakhstan at 2 p.m. today to retain the bronze medal they won in the 1998 Bangkok Asiad. …
