To do this, it's essential that your communication skills are up to scratch.
To maintain effective contacts it's important that you can interact with other people easily and find it easy to get on with people in a business and social capacity.
Talking is, inevitably, a large part of successful networking, so you must be prepared to spend a lot of time chatting on the phone and in person to people who may hold the key to your future career.
