Chu-Fang Huang, a native of the People's Republic of China, received the 2002 International Grace Welsh Prize for Piano, worth $5,000. She will be presented in her Chicago debut recital in May 2003.

Huang attends The Curtis Institute of Music and studies with Claude Frank. She played Scarlatti's Sonatas L. 352 and L. 224, Liszt's Sonata in B Minor and Ravel's La Valse in the competition finals in Chicago.
