NCERT admits to errors, but CPM is unrelenting.

NEW DELHI: Blaming ''the pressures put by court litigations'' for factual errors, the National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) said corrections were now being made in the social science text books.

It has, however, stuck to its interpretation of the October Revolution, calling it ''a coup led by Lenin'', prompting the CPM to accuse it of ''anti-communist phobia''. NCERT director J S Rajput insists that ''the publication of fresh evidence (regarding the 1917 events in Russia) would serve to pull down the ideological curtain''.
