Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), the UK law firm, has forged an alliance with New York partnership Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel (KLNF) to boost its corporate practice.The transatlantic alliance will see the two firms, with over 700 lawyers in London, New York, Paris, Milan and Brussels, share a combined marketing and business development strategy and budget.
There will be no formal exclusivity or fee-sharing arrangements, but the firms are expected to work increasingly closely together. Neville Eisenberg, managing partner of BLP, said: "We very much see this as a first step."
KLNF will give BLP a much-needed US presence. Eisenberg said: "It's a big boost to our corporate and finance practices. It'll unlock a whole lot of doors that perhaps weren't available to us before."
