CHARLES Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House, built in Helensburgh in 1902 for the publisher Walter Blackie, is among the buildings nominated by architectural experts as among the most significant modern contributions to Scotland's heritage.

At the annual conference of the Architecture Heritage Society of Scotland, held over the weekend in Edinburgh, experts from all over the country were asked to submit their favourite 20th century building in order to compile a shortlist of 20.
