Mining museum set for Kwekwe.

THE government and gold mining company Globe & Phoenix are building the country's first mining museum in the Midlands town of Kwekwe, National Museums and Monuments project manager Josiah Mhute said this week.

Construction of the new National Mining Museum began in August this year with the first phase of the project, which is expected to cost $75 million, scheduled to be complete by mid-2003.

Mhute would not say when the second and final phase of the project would be completed.
