AUSTIN, Texas -- Buffalo Technology (USA), Inc., a leading global manufacturer of wireless networking solutions today released the new upgradeable AirStation Pro Plus Router Access Point, model WLMR-L11G. The WLMR-L11G is IEEE 802.11b compliant, Wi-Fi(TM) certified, and offers migration support from 802.11b to 802.11a and/or 802.11g platforms via a mini-PCI upgrade card (sold separately).

The powerful CPU (MPC8241/200MHz) and large cache memory (64MB) are the essential backbone of WLMR-L11G to process intensive communications on 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands simultaneously. The robust router feature with 88Mbps data rate offers more scalable wireless networks than a majority of other manufacturers' access points. WLMR-L11G is the most progressive WLAN access point in the industry.

Security is a key issue in the wireless LAN market today. The WLMR-L11G supports multiple levels of security with the latest technology: 802.1x/EAP support, VPN and Firewall features. These features allow SMB/SOHO business owners to integrate security levels utilized in enterprise networking, but at a very affordable cost. Moreover, the scalability of the AirStation Pro Plus Router provides our customers with continuous service and support in the ever-changing world of new technologies. "No matter what technology may emerge in the future, we are ready and can help our customers to expand their businesses by supplying upgrade options to 802.11a and/or g technologies," says Mr. Morikazu Sano, Vice-President of Buffalo Technology (USA), Inc.

Buffalo Technology is continuously developing new product lines for 802.11b as well as the 802.11a and/or 802.11g proposed standard. The company's goal is to provide total wireless networking solutions to better serve personal and business applications.
