Public Service Reporter The new ACT Government Joint Union-Management Council met yesterday for the first time.
The Chief Minister, Jon Stanhope, said the Government had made a commitment last November to establish the consultative forum to consult on public-service management issues. The Public Sector Management Act 1994 had provided for the establishment of such a council but the provision had been removed by the former government. ''Since then, we have created a management standard to formally re-establish the union-management consultative forum to be known as the Joint Council.'' The council is chaired by the ACT Commissioner for Public Administration, Richard Moss.
