JAKARTA, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - The Japanese chamber of commerce and industry at a meeting with the coordinating minister for economic affairs has asked for a tax incentive for Japanese investors who are newcomers in Indonesia.
The Japanese chamber has asked the Indonesian government to grant a tax incentive for new Japanese companies which started doing business in Indonesia only recently.
They wish a two-year tax holiday could be granted to the new Japanese companies like what had been done by the Chinese government, Minister Dorodjatun Kuntjoro-Jakti said after having talks with the Japanese chamber here on Monday.
The Japanese side also asked for the readiness of Indonesian workers to support a plan of a number of other Japanese businesses planning to come to Indonesia.
Basically, they wished to expand their business network in Indonesia. Some 1000 Japanese business companies are now operating in Indonesia in a tight competition with Chinese businesses, he said.
