WASHINGTON, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - World Bank President James Wolfensohn said Monday he will soon send an official letter to North Korea asking it to attend the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank slated to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in September 2003.
Wolfensohn made the remarks while meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Jeon Yun-churl, said an official of the Ministry of Finance and Economy accompanying Jeon on his visit here for the IMF-World Bank annual assembly.
Wolfensohn was also quoted as saying he will extend every possible support to help North Korea join the IMF-World Bank annual meeting in Dubai next year.
