Exports to China by venture firms more than doubled to $134.5 million in August this year, up 134.5 percent from the same period last year.
Their exports to August this year rose 30.8 percent from a year ago to $566 million, according to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) yesterday.
The growth rate is higher than those by conglomerates (26.5 percent) and small and medium-sized enterprises (9.7 percent) during the same period.
``On the back of strong technological edge, venture exports are continuing to grow regardless of economic uncertainties in the U.S.,'' said Kang Nam-hoon, a MOCIE official.
Aggregate venture exports totaled $4,247 million, up 26.9 percent year-on-year, accounting for 4.05 percent of the nation's total exports between January-August period, up 0.37 percentage points from a year earlier.
