AFTER "Oplan Endgame" comes "Oplan Gordian Knot,'' the latest anti-crime strategy devised by the military to counter the series of daring communist rebel attacks, including one that killed the police chief of Lopez, Quezon last week.

Where the first operation was directed at the Abu Sayyaf kidnap gang in Mindanao, Gordian Knot would end the more than 30-year communist insurgency, Armed Forces chief of staff Gen. Benjamin Defensor said.
