HALKYN UNITED'S purple patch of three goals in 10 minutes in the first half was enough to secure the points but Llanfairpwll had them reeling towards the end.

A rousing revival yielded two replies and, if there had been any more time, Darren Moore's battlers might well have snatched some reward.

The early action saw Halkyn force a series of corners followed by Billy Evans' near miss for the home side before the decisive spell between the 32nd and 42nd minutes.

Richard Lawton opened with a header from a corner on the right and then Gareth Thomas bagged a brace with a close-range finish from a cross and a dash into the box to win a dual with keeper

Mold Alex ..........1 Ruthin Town ........3 RUTHIN kept up the early pressure in the Huws Gray Fitlock Cymru Alliance after picking up a battling win.

Two goals on the half-hour mark put the visitors on course, Llion Roberts slotting the first before Andy Roberts raced through moments later to net a second.
