Jalalabad, 10 August: All the dead bodies and injured of the Jalalabad blast have been recovered and electricity has been restored.

The correspondent of Afghan Islamic Press [AIP] has visited the scene, where a large explosion occurred. Our correspondent reports that all the dead bodies and injured people have been recovered. The surrounding houses have been destroyed and government bulldozers are clearing the road. People are wandering among [the rubble of] their houses and say that they have not yet received help. They said they had spent last night with their relatives without any shelter.

The exact number of the casualties is not known. It is said that 25 people have been martyred, including bus passengers travelling from Kabul to Jalalabad. The bus reached the scene at the time of blast.

Kabul radio has also announced 25 people died. This was a residential place of low-grade government employees, such as labourers, gardeners and guards. The residents of the area were employees of the ...
