Seoul, 8 August: North Korea's state-run media has held its tongue over a series of economic reform measures announced by the communist country last month.

North Korea introduced a series of economic reform measures late July such as increasing food prices and workers' wages and the abolition of the state-run rationing system.

However, North Korean newspapers and television stations have not reported on these measures and have continued their broadcasts of propaganda concerning the superiority of the North Korean economic system.
